Aspiring Minds has launched AM-Direct, a situation judgment test (SJT), to help companies hire for mid-management level. SJT based testing is a globally accepted methodology to measure constructs ranging from problem solving and decision making to behavior traits. SJT is a simulation based test which rather than testing the hidden traits required for a job, simulates job scenarios and directly tests whether the candidate will respond in the correct manner. The test consists of questions in the form of business situations followed by 4-5 choices. The candidate needs to mark the best and the worst option in the business situation. Each question is mapped to a certain business competency. Basis the answer choices given by the candidate, the test measures a candidate on following 5 competencies required for mid-management position:
The test has been criterion validated and shows a strong performance correlation of 0.35. The assessment can act as an interview aid for candidates applying for mid-management level as well as a tool for self diagnostics and assessment centers.
